How often should I have the treatment?

Does the treatment hurt?
You may feel mild discomfort, stinging or pressure during the injections. A local anesthetic is mixed with the Aqualyx to minimise pain.

How should I prepare for the treatment?
To ensure the best results, follow these preparation steps:
- Avoid caffeine and alcohol for 24 hours before the treatment to reduce the risk of swelling and bruising.
- Stay hydrated.
- Avoid blood thinning medications and supplements (such as aspirin, ibuprofen, fish oil or vitamin E) for at least 48 hours before the treatment (check with your doctor before discontinuing).
- Avoid sun exposure or tanning for 1 week before treatment.
- Wear loose, comfortable clothing to your appointment to avoid irritation post-treatment.
What is the aftercare?
- Apply a cold compress to reduce swelling.
- Stay hydrated - drink at least 2 litres per day to support lymphatic drainage.
- Gently massage the treated area daily to encourage lymphatic drainage.
- Wear compression garments.
- Do not touch, rub or press the treated area unnecessarily.
- Avoid alcohol, caffeine and salty foods for 24 hours.
- No strenuous exercise or heat exposure (steamrooms or saunas) for 3-5 days.
- Avoid makeup on the treated area for 24 hours.
- Avoid blood thinning medications for 48 hours.
