Laser Podiatry
Laser Podiatry
At our beauty clinic in Cobham our podiatrist treats fungal nail infections (onychomycosis) with great success. These fungal nail infections are very common, affecting up to one in ten of the UK population. Around half of all nail problems are related to fungus. Fungal infection is more common in male than female. The nail becomes thickened or discoloured; it can turn yellow, brown, orange or white. This sometimes causes bleeding as a result of trauma and the nails can become brittle or can crumble, and may lift from the end of the digit.
In some cases debris collects beneath the nail and becomes malodorous. Fungal nail infections often result from damage to the nail plate or seal, which allows a fungus or athlete’s foot to invade the nail. Fungal Nail infections can be often caused by medical conditions such as diabetes, psoriasis or general poor health, ill fitting shoes, non hygienic facilities.
